My God Knows Me

Psalm 139 verse one says, O Lord, you have searched me and known me!  This search is more thorough than a Google search, more detailed than a CT-Scan, more encompassing a report than the most advanced research facility could produce, and it is all just because God is so interested in every detail of your life!  God says He wants to know everytime you stand up or sit down, the number of hairs on your head and every single thought that blinks through your mind.  That is how ...

He is Risen!

Paul describes the uselessness of the Christian's life without the reality of the resurrection using terms like, your faith is futile, preaching the Word in vain, we are misrepresenting Christ, no hope, we ought to be the most pitied people on earth. BUT

1 Corinthians 15:20 says, "But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead,"

Live your life in the light streaming from an empty tomb,

HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Isaiah 53:4 says, "Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted."

Check out the words used to describe the personal pain Jesus accepted in our place: grief, sorrows, stricken. afflicted, pierced, crushed, chastisement, wounds, .  All that Jesus personally experienced because of the iniquity of us all.  In light of that, how ought you to live?Pastor Dave...

A Plan with a Purpose

Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." On Palm Sunday, the week of the crucifixion, the Jews wanted to make Jesus their king, God had bigger plans to make Him King of kings and Lord of lords.  How many of the plans we give to God for Him to act upon are simply that, our plans.  God has a much bigger and better plan for you, one that has never been seen or has ever entered into the heart of man.  Le

Spring break is a great time to pause and make a plan to finish out the school year well, figure out what needs to change, make adjustments in priorities to finish strong. 2 John 1: 8 says, "Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.”

Feelings or Faith?

Hebrews 11:1 (ESV) Says …..

”Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.“

It doesn't say, "When you feel loved, valued and at peace, your faith is working."  Rather, this chapter demonstrates that those facing dark days, rejection, and hopelessness clung to Faith in God who loves you as much as He loves His Son; who sets your value higher than all else in creation; who not only gives light, He is the light. And so, we walk by faith and

Here is Your Reminder

2 Peter 1:12 (ESV)

"Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have."

Most of the Christian life is not learning new truths, it's being reminded of what you already have and know.  How much of your Bible knowledge is practiced on a daily basis, and How much do you need to be reminded of?

A Cat Has Four Feet.

Romans 14:19 ESV"So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding."

The Haitians have a proverb which says. A cat has four feet, but he can not run on four paths at the same time.  In the course of a day, many opportunities come your way, you can't do everything.  Evaluate what you chose to do by this criteria, Will it bring peace? Will it build up another believer? Who will say that you are their encourager?

Unity in the Body of Christ

by: David Pearce

Rom. 15:5 (ESV) "May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus."

God knew unity in the body of Christ would not just happen, we are all much too self-centered for that.  We need God to continually encourage us toward unity (against our natural inclinations)  and roll up your sleeves, get ready to really work at it! The word endurance indicates it will take great effort on your part.

Promise Kept

Psalm 107:29 (ESV) "He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed."

I wonder if the disciples had read that verse the morning Jesus stilled the sea.  They were in awe, was it His display of power or that He fulfilled scripture so completely, or both? I challenge you to search out God's promises in scripture and watch as He faithfully keeps His word.

The Power to Succeed

Philippians 4:13 (ESV) "I can do all things through him who strengthens me."

Have you memorized this verse? Better yet, are you applying it?  Making New Year's resolutions shows good intent, but you need more than human resolve to effect real change in your life.  How about exploring what life would be like if Christ were truly working in you, both to will and to do His good pleasure.
